The energy sector spans upstream (exploration & production — ExxonMobil, Chevron, Shell, ONGC, Reliance), midstream (pipelines & storage), downstream (refiners), oilfield services (Schlumberger, Halliburton), and increasingly, renewables (NextEra, Iberdrola, Adani Green). Energy stocks are highly correlated with crude oil and natural gas prices.
