Corrections Policy
Last updated: April 2026.
Found an error? Email [email protected] with the article URL and the issue. We aim to acknowledge within 24 hours and correct verified errors within 48 hours.
Our commitment
market.news produces AI-synthesized financial news at high volume. With volume comes the possibility of errors, even with our quality-review pipeline (described in our Methodology). We are committed to:
- Acknowledging errors promptly and publicly
- Correcting them transparently with clear timestamps
- Tracking patterns so we can improve our process
- Never silently editing factual errors after publication
What counts as an error
We treat the following as significant errors requiring public correction:
- Factually incorrect statements about prices, dates, named individuals, companies, or events
- Mis-attribution of quotes or claims to a wrong source
- Misleading headlines that don't match the article body
- Outdated information presented as current (where dates aren't clearly disclosed)
- Mathematical or unit errors (currency, percentages, scale)
- Mislabeled country, sector, or company
We treat the following as minor errors corrected silently:
- Typographical errors (spelling, punctuation)
- Grammatical issues that don't change meaning
- Formatting problems (broken links, layout glitches)
- Style inconsistencies
How significant corrections are disclosed
When we make a significant correction to a published article, we add a clearly labeled correction notice at the top of the article body. Format:
π Correction
Updated [DATE TIME UTC]: A previous version of this article stated [INCORRECT FACT]. The correct figure is [CORRECT FACT]. We apologize for the error.
The article's dateModified Schema.org field is updated to reflect the correction time, so search engines see the article as freshly updated.
How to report an error
The fastest way: email [email protected] with:
- The full URL of the article
- The specific text or claim you believe is incorrect
- What you believe is correct, and (if possible) a source we can verify against
- Your name (optional, but useful if we need to credit you)
You can also reach us via the contact form or by replying to any email from market.news.
What happens after you report
- Within 24 hours: We acknowledge receipt and review the claim against the source articles cited in the original synthesis.
- Within 48 hours: If we confirm an error, we publish a correction notice on the article and update the article text. If we cannot confirm or disagree, we reply with our reasoning.
- Tracking: Confirmed errors are logged in our internal quality system. Patterns inform improvements to our prompts, source-tier weights, and quality reviewer.
Article removal vs. correction
We rarely remove published articles. Our standard response to errors is correction + transparency, not deletion. We will consider full removal only in cases involving:
- Defamation or false statements about identifiable individuals
- Privacy violations (publication of private information without justification)
- Major factual errors that cannot be corrected (e.g., entire premise was wrong)
- Legal demands that we are obligated to comply with
Where we do remove an article, we leave a tombstone page at the URL noting the removal date and reason (without re-publishing the offending content).
Quality review transparency
Our internal quality reviewer (described in Methodology) rejects approximately 40% of synthesis attempts before they ever publish. Reviewer verdicts and itemized issues are stored in our database for every published and rejected article.
We periodically publish aggregate quality statistics on our admin dashboard and may publish public transparency reports in the future.
External feedback
In addition to direct error reports, we monitor:
- Comments and posts on our community forum
- Social media mentions (when discoverable)
- Reader emails and replies
If you raise a factual concern in any of these channels, we will respond and act on it as if reported via email.
