How to read subscription multiples
An IPO showing 1.5x subscribed means investors collectively bid for 1.5 times the shares being offered. Heavily subscribed IPOs often see listing-day pops, but that's not guaranteed โ high subscription can also indicate retail FOMO chasing a stretched valuation.
Mainboard vs SME: Mainboard IPOs trade on the NSE main market with higher liquidity and stricter listing rules. SME IPOs trade in a separate segment with lower minimum lot sizes and looser disclosure. Both follow the same subscription mechanics.
