Korea pushes to build 8 large nuclear reactors for the US — a multi-decade export contract
The South Korean government is pursuing a deal to construct eight large-scale nuclear reactors on behalf of the United States, a strategic export initiative that would represent Korea's most significant nuclear engineering contract since its UAE Barakah project. KEPCO and Doosan Enerbility are the primary domestic beneficiaries of the project pipeline. If confirmed, the deal would cement Korea as a Tier 1 global nuclear constructor alongside France and the US, and provide earnings visibility extending well into the 2040s.
